Evergreen and vigorous, Dichondra argentea ‘Silver Falls’ (Silver Nickel Vine) is a tender herbaceous perennial, usually grown as an annual, with masses of small, fan-shaped, shimmering silvery leaves, 1 in. across (2.5 cm). Inconspicuous tiny pale yellow-green or white flowers are produced in early summer. As a groundcover, its creeping stems root wherever the nodes touch the ground, enabling the plant to spread rapidly and form a dense mat that choke out weeds. Silver Nickel Vine is also regarded as a unique, trailing accent plant for hanging baskets, containers or raised bed where it will cascade gracefully over the edges. Heat and drought tolerant.
