Award-winning Digitalis purpurea f. albiflora (White-Flowered Foxglove) is an elegant biennial or short-lived perennial boasting one-sided spikes of pendant, tubular, creamy-white flowers delicately speckled in the throat. Blooming profusely from early summer to midsummer, the luminous blossoms rise from a basal rosette of large, pointed-oval leaves. They are attractive to hummingbirds, which hover near the tubular blossoms, and to birds which flock to the seedheads in the fall. Offering a long-lasting floral display, this eye-catching plant naturalizes and may create lovely colonies in the landscape. Particularly pretty when naturalized at the edge of woods.
